What a load of crap! People do get offended by names and if you’re one of those who’ve ever gotten called a name, then you know what I’m talking about.
You might think that you’ll never let anyone call you something bad again but trust me, it happens. And if you really think you won’t let it happen again, then you’re sadly mistaken.
No matter how much you try to avoid getting insulted, it will eventually find its way to your door step.
So instead of letting insults slide off your back and thinking that nothing will come out of it, you’d better learn to take care of yourself. After all, you deserve respect and you shouldn’t allow others to treat you any differently.
Positive thinking is an essential part of any mental wellness program. Negative thinking only leads to self-destructive behaviors. When you focus on your strengths and accomplishments, you’ll feel happier and healthier. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!
2. Important Goals In life
You will often encounter stressful situations, individuals, or goals. With these goals, however, the secret is always to stay optimistic while never ever surrendering.
For example, many of us set goals for ourselves such as getting into a certain university, finding a new job, buying a house, and starting a family.
Countless numbers of men and women typically state, “I should obtain a vehicle by 25.” or “I must own my property by 30.”
When these don’t come about as expected, they start feeling like disappointments which then causes them to experience depression. Don’t worry about failed goals or goals in general.
Develop that skill to train your brain to manage pressure so that you’ll never decide to place a goal before your emotional wellbeing. Your emotional wellness is essential and needs to be a top priority!
3. Your Career
You must understand that no matter what field you choose, you will face challenges and obstacles along the way. Even if you choose a career path that you think will be easy, it won’t be.
The best advice I can give you is to make sure that you enjoy what you’re doing. If you find yourself working too much, take a step back and reassess where you stand. If you feel like you aren’t growing as a person, maybe it’s time to move on.
In order to maintain a healthy and happy life, one needs to learn how to properly deal with relationships.
Relationships can be very rewarding and fulfilling, but they can also be extremely stressful and draining. When dealing with a partner who causes stress and anxiety, it is important to understand what is causing this and why.
You may find that your partner is suffering from an emotional disorder such as depression or bipolar. Or perhaps he/she is just having a bad day. Regardless of the reason, you need to make sure that you do everything possible to help him/her feel better about himself/herself.
5. Looking tough
Many times we try to make a facade so that others won’t know when we’re hurting without realizing how detrimental it is to our health.
Being vulnerable with those you love is okay. As a man, I’m also trying to learn this lesson. In being vulnerable, we open our hearts to mental freedom. I’ve learned that now. I hope that you’ll do the same.
6. Your Qualification
Are material things not supposed to come before what’s most vital in life? Like how you can’t compare the happiness of a job to that of family love, you shouldn’t be able to compare your qualification to your mental health either.
Sometimes in the quest for getting these qualification, we forget about our mental health. When we’re tired, we’re unproductive the next day which makes it worse for our health.
After all, if you’re exhausted, then you’re not thinking straight. You’re not putting forth your best effort. And that means you’re not fulfilling your potential.
So yes, your qualification are important but so too are your mental health. Both should work together but your qualification shouldn’t ever surpass the significance of your mental health.
Family wants you to be happy and do whatever makes you happy but sometimes our families’ wishes go outside what gave us happiness.
To be honest, you have one lifetime to spend living your own way. your time shouldn’t be solely spent making others happier but yourself too. a happy you will be a better you physically, mentally, and emotionally.
8. Likes and Followers
These should not define you; you are not more important for being popular nor are you less important for being unpopular. Instead of feeding off of followers and likes for affirmation, you should venture out into new and different areas to make yourself a better human being.
Do activities that make you feel happier, healthier, and more valuable. If you think social media doesn’t make you feel any of those three emotions, then maybe stepping back for a little while would be best.
When you step back, you can do some much-deserved introspecting which will be of great benefit to your overall wellbeing.
9. Pleasing people
You know how people say “you’ll never get anywhere if you don’t try”? Well I’m not saying that you’ll never get anywhere, just that you won’t get far if you focus too much on trying to make everyone else happy. Don’t worry about whether they think you’re cool or not; just go out there and live your own life.
When we were kids, our parents told us to aim to be liked. But today, we’ve learned that being liked doesn’t mean anything. Sure, you may get along better with someone who likes you, but does that really matter? If you’re doing something you enjoy, then why bother trying to impress anyone? Just do it.
10. Being an annoyance
At some point in your lifetime, you may have been an annoyance to somebody. You shouldn’t ever let this discourage you though because quite honestly, it is only part of your journey.
As such, if you recognize that it is causing you sadness, then try thinking positively about it. There is actually power in your thoughts so make them positive!
Mental illness is something that affects people every single day. You cannot ignore it because it will affect you too. Take care of yourself so you can take care of others.
